# GoCardless Integration

GoCardless is a payment platform specialized in bank-debit collection across SEPA, BACS and ACH schemes.

With **Meteroid’s native integration**, you can collect recurring payments on your Meteroid invoices by direct debit through GoCardless. Your Customers authorize a mandate once, and payments are then collected automatically on each invoice. The integration enables:

* **Direct Debit** (SEPA, BACS, ACH)
* **Recurring mandates**: a Customer authorizes GoCardless to debit their bank account for future payments
* **Secure storage of payment methods**: bank details and mandates are stored securely by GoCardless, not by Meteroid
* **Payment status synchronization**: Meteroid tracks payments collected through GoCardless and updates invoice statuses automatically

💡 **Important:** GoCardless only supports bank debits. If you also want to accept **card payments**, connect a card-enabled provider such as [Stripe](/integrations/stripe), [Mollie](/integrations/mollie) or [Stancer](/integrations/stancer).

## Prerequisites

* An active **GoCardless account**.

## How to Set It Up

1. Go to `Settings > Integrations` in your Meteroid dashboard.

2. Under **Payment Providers**, select **GoCardless** and click **Connect**.

3. Enter your GoCardless **Access token** and, optionally, your **Creditor ID**.

   💡 **Important:** The access token must have the **read-write** scope.

4. Set up the webhook so that GoCardless can send payment updates to Meteroid:
   1. In your GoCardless dashboard, create a new **webhook endpoint**.
   2. Copy the webhook URL provided by Meteroid and paste it into the GoCardless webhook endpoint.
   3. Copy the **webhook secret** generated by GoCardless and paste it into Meteroid.

5. Click **Activate** to enable the connection.

6. Once connected, go to `Settings > Payment methods` and enable **Direct Debit / SEPA** for your invoicing entity (see [Supported Payment Method](/settings/payment-methods)).
