Free trials let your customers experience the value of your product for a limited time and free of charge before making a purchase decision, helping boost customer adoption and conversion rates.
To set up a trial:
In Meteroid, you can configure the duration of the trial period, specify which plans the trial applies to and define what happens at the end of the trial, as follow:
Option A: The trial applies to the Current Plan
Select one of the following end-of-trial events and click “Save” to proceed:
In the below example, End Users of the “Hobby” Plan will get access during 14 days to the “Hobby” plan for free. If they have other active subscriptions they will keep on accessing the given Plans and being charged accordingly. At the end of the 14 days, End Users will automatically be charged for the “Hobby” Plan. If they have other active subscriptions they will keep on accessing the given Plans and being charged accordingly after the 14 days.
Option B: The trial applies to another Plan.
Scenario 1: Grant free access to the defined Plan
Select an end-of-trial event: “Downgraded,” “Charged,” or “Blocked” (cf. above). Click “Save” to proceed.
In the below example, End Users of the “Hobby” Plan will get access during 14 days to the “Enterprise” Plan for free. They will not access nor be charged anymore for the “Hobby” Plan during this period. At the end of the 14 days, if End Users did not subscribe to the “Enterprise” Plan, then they will be downgraded to the “Hobby” Plan and charged accordingly.
Scenario 2: Grant free access to the defined Plan while paying for the current plan
End Users continue paying for the current plan but gains access to the defined Plan during the trial period. At the end of the trial period, End Users are automatically downgraded to the current plan. Click “Save” to proceed.
In the below example, End Users of the “Hobby” Plan will get access during 14 days to the “Enterprise” plan for free. They will keep on being charged for the “Hobby” Plan during this period. At the end of the 14 days, if End Users did not subscribe to the “Enterprise” Plan, then they will be downgraded to the “Hobby” Plan and keep on being charged accordingly.
Coupons can be used to grant your customers discounts. Coupons can be offered as a fixed amount or a percentage of a given price and can be limited in time or not.
To create a new coupon, navigate to Product Catalog > Coupons and click on ”+ New Coupon”. Then, fill in the following details:
Once a coupon is created, you can manage it by clicking on the coupon and selecting “Actions”. The available actions are:
You can also update the coupon amount or percentage at any time. Simply click on the coupon (whether it’s in the Active, Inactive, or Archived section), enter a new value, and click Save to apply the changes.
Once you have created, coupons can be applied by:
💡 Coupons in Meteroid are supported at Subscription level and not yet at Customer level. To grant a coupon to a given Customer, you should discount all their subscriptions.
